About the Project

The Connect 6ix project is a consortium-led contract responsible for delivering the Rolling Stock, Systems, Operations and Maintenance (RSSOM) package for the Ontario Line — a new 15.6 km rapid transit subway running across Toronto. This includes the trains, signaling, communications systems, and the operations and maintenance facility. Connect 6ix will also operate and maintain the line for 30 years. https://connect6ix.ca/

The NGE adventure

Enforces safety and evacuation procedures, leading by example (responsible driving, wearing PPE on-site, etc.). Promotes a preventive approach and ensures the health and safety of team members (RPS, working conditions, etc.). Contributes to the implementation of the Action Plan, performance review, and roadmap within their scope. Support the development and implementation of Testing & Commissioning (T&C) plans, procedures, schedules, and strategies. Coordinate Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), pre-commissioning, commissioning, and integrated systems testing activities. Monitor testing and commissioning progress to ensure compliance with project schedules, specifications, and contractual requirements. Review and coordinate test procedures, ensuring they are approved and executed in accordance with project standards. Track testing results, deficiencies, non-conformances, and punch list items through to resolution. Support troubleshooting and resolution of testing issues in collaboration with engineering, construction, subcontractors, suppliers, and client representatives. Coordinate testing and commissioning activities across civil, systems, MEP, and other project disciplines. Facilitate testing readiness reviews, coordination meetings, and commissioning workshops. Coordinate witnessing activities with clients, Independent Certifiers (IC), authorities, and other stakeholders. Maintain testing and commissioning registers, logs, schedules, dashboards, and progress reports. Manage testing documentation and commissioning records within project document management systems (e.g., Aconex, EDMS). Support audits, inspections, quality reviews, and commissioning acceptance activities. Assist in preparing Commissioning & Acceptance (C&A) packages, turnover documentation, and as-built records. Identify testing and commissioning risks, monitor readiness, and support mitigation strategies. Ensure compliance with project specifications, quality standards, regulatory requirements, and client expectations throughout the testing and commissioning lifecycle.

The ideal profile

For this position, the ideal candidate should have the following skills, experience and knowledge:

Essential

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline. Experience in Testing & Commissioning on large-scale infrastructure, rail, transit, industrial, or complex construction projects. Experience coordinating FAT, SAT, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and integrated systems testing. Experience working within multidisciplinary teams, contractors, subcontractors, and Joint Venture (JV/CJV) environments. Strong understanding of testing, commissioning, construction, and project handover processes. Familiarity with document management systems such as Aconex, EDMS, or similar platforms. Strong planning, coordination, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Excellent stakeholder management and cross-functional communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and coordinate activities across complex project interfaces. Strong analytical, reporting, and documentation skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management/document control systems. Knowledge of applicable industry standards, quality assurance processes, and health and safety requirements.

The expected salary range for this position is $100K to $130K annually. In addition to base pay, we offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes health and dental coverage, retirement savings, paid time off, and other programs designed to support employee well‑being.
