Postdoctoral Fellow in Endocrinology
Position No. 31566
A postdoctoral position is available in the Diabetes Research Group in the Department of Internal Medicine in the University of Manitoba. The position is supported by an ongoing grants from Canadian Institutes of Health Canada project regarding to gut and milk microbiota in First Nations communities. The tentative start date of the position is March 1, 2022 or as soon as negotiated. The funding is available for 2 years and subject to renew.
Responsibilities:
- Organizing fecal and milk samples collected from communities.
- Bioinformatics data analyzing for milk and fecal samples.
- Statistical data analysis and figure generation for the data.
- Relevant biochemical and cell culture experiments and data analysis.
Qualifications:

Candidate received a PhD or equivalent degree in relevant field from a recognized institute within 5 years.

Candidate is currently living in Canada with Canadian government issued work permit.

Candidate is committed to research work and willing to follow the guidelines and regulations of University of Manitoba.

Candidate is fluent in English speaking and writing.

Candidate is capable to use computer and familiar with Microsoft Office, basic statistics.

Candidate with experience in microbiology, gut microbiota and bioinformatics will be considered in priority.

Salary and benefits:

Eligible candidate is expected to receive a salary $25,000/yr. according to the standard of the University of Manitoba. The salary scale may be varied based on the experience and capacity of candidate, and the success of application on additional postdoctoral award from the grant agency.
