Technical Analyst - IAM, Active Directory and Unix
About the role
Location: Toronto
Contract duration: 5-6 months
Typical day in role:
• Meetings with stakeholders (business, IT security, compliance teams) to discuss access needs, risks, and exceptions.
• Review requests for privileged access across UNIX, Active Directory (AD), and Windows environments.
• Prioritize tasks for the day: remediation efforts, guideline drafting, or urgent escalations.
• Assess the current UNIX landscape from a privilege perspective, identifying misaligned sudo rules, excessive access, or outdated configurations.
• Set up or refine UNIX sudo council configurations, ensuring proper delegation of administrative rights.
• Analyze privilege access models across UNIX, AD, and Windows to ensure consistency and compliance with governance standards.
• Document findings from assessments, highlighting risks, exceptions, and remediation paths.
Must-Have Skills:
• 9+ years of hands-on experience with UNIX, Active Directory (AD), and Windows privilege models
• 7+ years of practical experience in the identity access management domain, including user access, cybersecurity, and risk management
• Proven ability to communicate and present effectively to diverse stakeholders, tailoring information to both technical and non-technical audiences
• 5+ years of cybersecurity auditing experience, with a strong focus on compliance and risk assessment
Nice to have skills:
• Proficiency in scripting languages (PowerShell, Shell, Java, Python)
• Spanish language skills
Soft Skills Required:
• Drives problem-solving and navigates ambiguity through critical thinking and solution-oriented approaches.
• Able to work remotely and on-site on multiple activities simultaneously and meet deadlines

The best candidate will have hands-on experience with Active Directory, Windows, and UNIX within the identity access management domain.
The best candidate is someone who can communicate very well. Some with the ability to distill complex.
