Role description: Arcadis is searching for a Senior CAD & BIM Technician to join its growing team for the Canada Places Design & Engineering division. You will facilitate the BIM production team, liaising with various discipline groups representing the Building Engineering team.
The successful candidate will play a key role in leading and overseeing complex mechanical engineering projects, ensuring compliance with all relevant codes and standards. Working within our Design & Engineering teams, you'll create some of the world’s most iconic and ground-breaking structures and spaces that transform the world around us, from making journeys easier to opening public places that bring people together.

We work with our clients around the world to create, support, and enhance smart, safe and sustainable places where people live, work, learn and thrive. Places impact on the quality of people’s lives. Whether new homes, shops, workplaces, schools and hospitals, manufacturing, research and development facilities, or data and distribution centers. Role accountabilities:
- Perform various Building Information Models (BIM) tasks such as producing, reviewing and managing project drawings and documentations
- Perform and check models, ensuring that they meet Arcadis and project standards, and that they meet the project’s BIM Goals
- Ensure projects have a defined BIM Execution Plan and champion fulfillment of the plan throughout the project’s lifecycle
- Be responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimizing the performance of the models
- Act in a leadership capacity to assist the BIM Team for both Design and Production
- Keep an eye on coordination and troubleshooting, and act as a subject matter expert on BIM (Revit) related issues while maintaining best practices
Qualifications & Experience:
- 10+ years of experience in BIM technology support role in the Engineering field, including production and coordination
- Significant experience with Revit and AutoCAD is a requirement
- Experience in developing and writing technical standards
- Certified ISO 19650 Information Management is valuable
- Secret-level Security Clearance is valuable
- Experience with ACC/ProjectWise is valuable
- Strong knowledge of Bentley software is valuable
- Familiarity with interoperability between Revit and other discipline-specific software programs, demonstrating awareness of the differences between BIM for Building, Civil and Plant
- Experience in 3D design and multi-disciplinary coordination, managing models and facilitating data exchange
- Good communication skills for team-based working environment and for teaching others.
- Excellent team leadership to lead a BIM team for design and production
- Excellent planning and organization skills are required for fast-paced projects
- Highly motivated, proactive and willing to take on new challenges
- Ability to interact with external entities (clients, owners, agencies) to interpret and understand desired BIM or CAD delivery requirements.
