Project Manager – Business Change (Distributed Energy Resources)
Location: Vancouver, BC (Hybrid)
Duration: 12-Month Contract
MatchBox Consulting Group is seeking a Project Manager – Business Change to support one of British Columbia's largest utility providers. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced project manager to lead business change initiatives focused on distributed energy resources, customer programs, and energy management projects.
You'll manage projects from planning through implementation and evaluation while collaborating with cross-functional teams, customers, vendors, and stakeholders to deliver successful outcomes safely, on time, and within budget.
Responsibilities
Lead business process change and energy management projects from initiation through implementation, evaluation, and closeout. Develop and manage project plans, schedules, budgets, risk registers, communication plans, and status reports. Monitor project performance and key performance indicators to ensure successful delivery. Coordinate internal stakeholders, external vendors, customers, and project teams throughout the project lifecycle. Develop and implement project processes, procedures, and governance documentation. Support procurement activities, Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs), customer data requests, and project reporting. Develop and execute communication and participant recruitment strategies to support program objectives. Identify project risks, develop mitigation strategies, and implement contingency plans. Prepare project evaluations, lessons learned, and post-implementation reviews. Deliver exceptional customer service while maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Environmental Studies, Engineering, or a related discipline. Minimum 5 years of project management experience. Strong experience managing multiple projects simultaneously. Excellent project planning, scheduling, risk management, and stakeholder engagement skills. Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Project. Strong business acumen and an understanding of the energy industry. Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and customer service skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Project Management Professional (PMP®) designation. Experience with Distributed Energy Resources (DER), including rooftop solar, customer self-generation, net metering, battery storage, and grid-connected distributed generation. Experience developing and executing marketing and communication plans. Experience with new product development and implementing emerging technologies. Familiarity with procurement processes, Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs), customer data requests, and utility operations.
Work Environment
Hybrid work arrangement based out of the Vancouver office at 333 Dunsmuir Street. Opportunity to contribute to innovative energy management and distributed energy initiatives. Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, customers, and external partners on high-impact projects. Fast-paced, collaborative environment with multiple concurrent projects.
