Personal Trainer/Fitness Centre Coach (Part-time)
The Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury’s Leisure Centre includes two NHL sized ice rinks, gymnasium, community program rooms, fitness centre and a state of the art aquatics centre with an eight lane competitive/lap pool, leisure pool with aquatic features and a relaxation/therapy pool. The Leisure Services Department is looking for energetic, highly motivated and organized individuals to join its Fitness team.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Provides one on one and small group specialized training for a variety of clients of various ages and abilities.
- Provides program coverage when required in all areas of personal fitness (fitness assessment, small group delivery).
- On-site supervision at the Fitness Centre including demonstrating equipment use and exercise routines, coaching members regarding their fitness programs and monitoring equipment and running track use Responsible for program design and delivery.
- Cleaning and maintaining equipment and program areas.
- Reporting equipment repairs or work orders.
- Ensuring that guests have a positive experience in a safe, friendly and welcoming environment.
- Provide program coverage in all areas of recreation when required and respond to inquiries/concerns from the general public and participants.
Key Competencies and Qualifications

Personal Trainer Certification (CSEP-CPT, CANFITPRO or equivalent)

Academic training in Recreation Leadership, Kinesiology, Physical Education or a related field is considered an asset

Current Standard First Aid and CPR Level C certifications

Additional certifications in specialized training considered an asset (Kettlebell, TRX, Martial Arts or other)

Additional Fitness Instructor certification considered an asset (FIS, Zumba, Cycle or other)

Demonstrated experience developing personal training objectives for a variety of clients and the ability to instruct various groups is an asset.

Demonstrated knowledge of physical fitness, coaching and instructing.

Proven interpersonal and relationship building skills and the ability to establish rapport and excellent communication with members, guests, staff and volunteers.

Able to promote a culture of inclusiveness and work with a diverse population of employees, participants, agencies and the public.

Available to work flexible hours including early mornings, days, evenings and weekends may be required as part of regular schedule.

Ability to provide a satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Screening upon hire.
This position offers an hourly wage of $27.19 to $33.05 when working as a Personal Trainer and $19.12 to $23.24 when working as a Fitness Centre Coach (2025 rates).
