Job Description:

In-Person: This position requires on-site presence and is not subject to hybrid work.

Note: These are part-time, casual, temporary Support positions (Up to 24 hours per week) starting September 2025 and ending December 2025 .

Hours: Hours are scheduled Monday to Friday between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Hours will vary depending on when tests are scheduled. On occasion, weekends will be required.

The Library Learning Commons (Test Centre) is accepting applications for the position of Part-time Test Centre Invigilator. According to Fanshawe College’s Evaluations Policy (A131), the position of Invigilator is responsible for maintaining the integrity of the evaluation process.

Duties:

Invigilators are responsible for test and exam administration, including registration of students and ensuring eligibility to write exams, which can include the following:

  • Appropriate room set up
  • Registration and identification of students prior to administering exams
  • Following instructions outlined by the faculty member(s)
  • Ensuring no unauthorized materials are brought into the exam room
  • Distribution of testing materials
  • Monitoring the area for cheating and/or inappropriate behaviours
  • Reporting breaches or security issues to the appropriate parties
  • Collection of test materials at the end of the exam

Qualifications:

  • Secondary/High School Diploma
  • 1 year recent experience in a customer service setting
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Demonstrated understanding and commitment to maintaining appropriate standards of confidentiality and security of materials
  • Demonstrated understanding of the importance of criteria and protocol related to assessment and test administration
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work with a wide variety of cultural communication styles
  • Effective interpersonal skills and ability to problem-solve
