About the role

Job Description On behalf of our public sector client, Affinity is seeking Senior Derivatives Analyst to be responsible for working closely with both internal and external teams in order to develop processes and provide recommendations. The successful individual will bring leadership and participate in

developing business models, implementing applications, lead implementation of projects, provide training to the team, and provide input to policies and procedures documents. They will work closely with their leader to identify process efficiency to allow for effective processing.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to develop processes and deliver recommendations.
  • Provide operational support, maintenance, and training when introducing a new business model or process.
  • Utilize advanced knowledge of over the counter and cleared derivatives to support and advise on operational processes.
  • Analyze current procedures to address system defects and identify efficiency opportunities.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to implement solutions that capitalize on these efficiencies while adhering to and improving internal controls.
  • Confirm and affirm trades with dealers to ensure accuracy of economic terms and legal agreements for executed transactions.
  • Leverage a strong understanding of ISDA documentation to review trades and validate legal definitions and terms within ISDA confirmations.
  • Ensuring accurate and timely verification of derivatives by verifying terms and details of derivatives products.
  • Investigate and resolve derivatives data issues within Aladdin including root cause analysis and remediation.
  • Build, maintain, and enhance reporting in Aladdin View and Aladdin Explore for monitoring data quality and operational reporting.
  • Manage and validate security master data in Aladdin ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to standards.
  • Design and implement operational monitors and dashboards within Aladdin to proactively detect breaks and exceptions.
  • Develop compliance flags, rules, and shape process controls for interfaces and connectivity with Osttra TradeManager, TradeServ, and TriResolve.
  • Work alongside internal and external legal counsel to develop new agreements or amendments.
  • Utilize advanced knowledge of over-the-counter and cleared derivatives to support and advise on operational processes.
  • Analyze current procedures to address system defects and identify efficiency opportunities.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to implement solutions that capitalize on these efficiencies while adhering to and improving current internal controls.
  • Analysis of legal documentation pertaining to each derivative trade to ensure terms and obligations are as negotiated and conforms to ISDA documentation structure and definitions.
  • Confirming and affirming trades with dealers to ensure economic and legal agreement of trades executed.
  • Understand the structure of ISDA documentation, be able to follow and interpret legal definitions and terms in ISDA confirmations.
  • Liaise with front office to ensure the right decisions are made for business risk. Add value by proactively providing research, examples, and data.
  • Ensuring accurate and timely verification of derivatives by verifying terms and details of derivatives products.

Qualifications

  • Experience in operational support for derivatives, including trade capture, confirmation, settlement, and reconciliation.
  • Proficiency with industry platforms such as MarkitWire, Trade Manager, TriResolve, and Calypso.
  • Strong ability to interpret and verify ISDA documentation and derivative trade terms.
  • Advanced understanding of over-the-counter (OTC) and cleared derivatives, including lifecycle events and cashflow processing.
  • Proven track record of identifying and resolving trade or cashflow discrepancies efficiently and accurately.
  • Experience working with Aladdin.
  • High attention to detail, accuracy, and timeliness in a fast-paced, multi-deadline environment.
  • Exceptional analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills applied to operational workflows.
