About The Role
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Manager, Quality to join our dynamic team at EllisDon Corporation. This leadership position is pivotal in championing quality excellence across our projects and operational areas. The Senior Manager will serve as the primary point of contact for quality management, ensuring that all initiatives align with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and client expectations. The role involves developing and implementing comprehensive quality management systems, leading continuous improvement efforts, and fostering a culture of quality throughout the organization. The successful candidate will work closely with project teams, subcontractors, and corporate support functions to ensure consistent application of quality practices, conduct project audits, and facilitate training programs. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned professional to influence quality standards on some of the most exciting and complex construction projects, contributing to EllisDon’s reputation for excellence and innovation in the industry.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess an architectural or engineering degree or an equivalent combination of technical training and extensive field experience, with a minimum of 10 years in the construction industry. A professional engineering or architecture license is considered an asset. The candidate must demonstrate a proven ability to lead operational best practices, risk management, and quality improvement initiatives across diverse building types and sectors. Strong knowledge of relevant regulations, codes, and specifications is essential. Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and relationship-building skills are required, along with exceptional negotiation, verbal, and written communication abilities. The role demands a self-motivated, proactive team player capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment. Prior experience with quality management systems, audits, and continuous improvement methodologies is highly desirable. A professional license and familiarity with industry-standard tools and templates will be advantageous.
Responsibilities
Act as the primary leader and advocate for quality excellence within the designated operational area, promoting a culture of quality through regular meetings, site walk-throughs, and ad-hoc interactions. Develop and maintain an effective team structure of full-time quality management personnel tailored to specific project and client needs. Create quality management narratives for proposal submissions, including resource planning and approach strategies for quality assurance and control. Participate in project bidding processes, identifying key quality personnel to mitigate project risks and challenges. Facilitate the execution of quality management activities, ensuring effective communication with subcontractors and project teams regarding quality mechanisms and benefits. Coordinate with corporate support resources such as Construction Sciences and Enterprise Intelligence to enhance project quality outcomes. Promote the sharing of best practices, lessons learned, and the use of tools and templates to ensure continuous improvement across projects. Partner with the Corporate QA Department and Construction Sciences to develop practical training materials and conduct workshops aimed at closing gaps in quality management practices. Continuously improve quality management systems, tools, and templates to meet evolving client and project requirements. Conduct project quality audits, review audit findings, and ensure timely implementation of corrective actions. Lead efforts to standardize quality protocols and foster a proactive approach to quality assurance across all operational sectors.
