Under the general direction of the Voice Data & Radio Networks Design - Group C Supervisor, performs diverse tasks to expand and
develop corporate voice, data, and radio telecommunications systems as required for administration, power system protection,
special protection, telemetry, remote control, and ICS & NERC Reliability Compliance.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide moderately complex technical interpretation and analysis and apply engineering principles and industry standards for

the expansion and development of corporate voice, data, and radio communications systems.

  • Provide related equipment system designs, technical specifications, procurement, engineering drawings, bill of materials,

installation work descriptions, database entries, and commissioning procedures.

  • Guide activities of technical support staff which may require on-site support of project activities anywhere in Manitoba.
  • Assist internal engineering and project management staff in scoping, scheduling, cost estimating, progress reporting, and cost

controlling of Voice, Data & Radio section related projects.

  • Regularly communicate with other utilities and industry organizations to acquire and exchange industry-related information.
  • Provide support to maintenance engineering and field technicians on existing systems.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of Electrical, Electronic, or Computer Engineering from a university of recognized standing plus a minimum of four

years related engineering work experience.

  • Professional member in good standing with Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba (or willingness and ability to attain within a

specified amount of time).

  • Must obtain and maintain a current Personnel Risk Assessment and a "Clear" security rating in accordance with Manitoba

Hydro policy P513.

  • Must complete Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) Training prior to transfer date and renewed annually.
  • Must have completed Standards of Conduct training or be willing to complete within two weeks of start date.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and ability to maintain

harmonious working relationships with staff at all levels.

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, including teamwork, facilitation, and negotiation.
  • Demonstrated initiative and enthusiasm in handling involved and complex technical and administration duties and problems.
  • Demonstrated ability to be able to develop and refine processes and procedures.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the design and operation of Manitoba Hydro's Voice, Data & Radio networks.
  • Demonstrated KSA (knowledge skills and ability) to plan, design, specify, organize, and control all aspects of moderately

complex voice, data and radio projects.

  • Demonstrated KSA to effectively use MS Office, SmallWorld PNI database, SolarWinds network management, secureCRT,

Salary Range

Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The range for the Professional Engineer II classification is
$43.44-$59.95 Hourly, $83,247.84-$114,870.60 Annually. The range for the Engineer-in-Training classification is $32.51-$45.74
Hourly, $62,293.92-$87,654.58 Annually.
