Play a key role in improving how data supports housing policy and planning.
As a Senior Data and Quality Analyst, you will help strengthen data quality, governance, and analytics practices. This work supports informed decision-making by ensuring housing data is consistent, reliable, and easy to use. You'll collaborate with teams to improve data tools, standards, and processes across the organization.
##About the job
In this role, you will:
- Lead data analysis and quality work, including data profiling, developing data quality rules and metrics, conducting audits, modelling, and improving analytical tools and processes
- Provide guidance and coordination on data analytics tools, standards, and data quality practices that support planning and decision-making
- Develop dashboards, reports, and materials that clearly explain data quality metrics, analytical methods, remediation progress, and results
- Support the development and maintenance of data governance artifacts, tools, documentation, and internal capacity
- Provide clear advice and support to client groups and stakeholders on data quality and analytics, assessing baselines and risks, and making strategic recommendations
- Lead or contribute to complex analytics, research, and project initiatives that support ministry priorities
##What you bring to the team
###Data Quality, Analytics and Technical Knowledge
Experience working with data, analytics, and tools to support reliable, evidence-based decision-making.
- Experience using data analytics, data quality, and visualization tools to analyze and present information
- Knowledge of data quality principles, governance practices, and analytical methods
- Experience working with data profiling, validation, modelling, and reporting tools
- Familiarity with data visualization, reporting, and query tools (such as Power BI, SQL, or similar technologies)
- Understanding of how data supports planning, performance measurement, and policy or program outcomes
- Proficiency with data and analytical tools in Azure (e.g., Databricks, Fabric)
###Communication, Consultation and Relationship Building
The ability to share information clearly and work collaboratively across teams.
- Communicate complex data and analysis in clear, practical ways for different audiences
- Support discussions, build shared understanding, and contribute to coordinated decision-making through consensus-building and mediation
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders
- Prepare briefings, reports, and materials that support informed discussions and decisions
###Research, Analysis and Problem Solving
Strong analytical thinking to assess issues, identify risks, and support practical solutions.
- Experience analyzing multi-dimensional qualitative and quantitative information to support policy and program decisions
- Ability to assess impacts, identify data risks or gaps, analyze root causes of data quality issues, and recommend improvements
- Experience working with large or complex datasets and identifying patterns and insights
- A solution-focused approach to emerging issues and continuous improvement
###Project Planning and Coordination
An organized approach to supporting multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Experience contributing to and leading data-related projects, including planning, coordination, and progress tracking
- Ability to manage competing priorities, meet timelines, and support project deliverables
