**About the Toronto Cricket Skating and Curling Club:**As a family-oriented private Club, our mission is to be a Great Club for our members by delivering exceptional experiences, inspired by our warm and welcoming culture. Located in North Toronto, the Club consists of more than 4,000 members, with a strong presence in the local social and sporting community.

The Club is looking for a Human Resources Coordinator on a 12-month contract to cover a parental leave. This role supports the efficient operation of the Human Resources department by managing administrative processes and serving as a primary point of contact for employees; provides timely, accurate information and resources to support employees and leaders across the Club.

Key Responsibilities

Recruitment

  • Provides administrative support throughout the entire recruitment life cycle, including preparing job postings, screening applications, coordinating interviews, and conducting reference and background checks
  • Prepares and manages all employment documentation, including employment agreements and onboarding packages; ensures the accurate completion of all onboarding tasks
  • In collaboration with the Learning & Development Manager – ensures new hires and rehires are up to date on mandatory training and e-learning

Administration

  • Upkeeps both physical and digital employee files, ensuring compliance with relevant legislations
  • Manages approvals and communication of employee changes, e.g. job change, termination, leave
  • Drafts and prepares a variety of Human Resources documentation, including letters of employment, job change letters, and disciplinary letters
  • Assists with total rewards administration, e.g. health benefits, pension plan, EAP

Internal Communications

  • Creates and updates a variety of employee communications such as posters, emails, and videos
  • Prepares materials and communications as directed for employee meetings and events
  • Supports the Learning & Development Manager with the coordination and logistics of training initiatives

Employee Engagement

  • Coordinates employee engagement activities, such as annual employee celebration, diversity events, and employee appreciation initiatives
  • Administers employee life events initiatives, including recognition for life events (e.g. flowers, gift baskets, birthday cards) and programs such as the employee parking lottery
  • Supports the development, administration, and analysis of employee engagement surveys

Employee Relations

  • Serves as a first point of contact for employee inquiries, such as benefits, payroll, HRIS support, employee relations, etc.
  • Assists managers and employees with workplace concerns, and provides updates to the Director of Human Resources
  • Supports investigations, grievance processes, and labour relations activities under the guidance of the Director of Human Resources

Health and Safety

  • Participates in the Joint Health and Safety Committee and related initiatives and training
  • Coordinates the submission of WSIB claims for workplace injuries and supports follow-up, including return-to-work processes
  • Works in compliance with Occupational Health & Safety Act (OHSA) and any safety policies and procedures set out by the Club

Qualifications

Education/Certification:

  • Undergraduate degree required, preferably in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
  • CHRP designation considered an asset

Experience:

  • 1-3 years of relevant experience in a Human Resources function

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Working knowledge of Employment Standards, labour relations principles, and HR best practices
  • Familiarity with AODA requirements and health & safety legislations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Experience with HRIS systems; Dayforce experience considered an asset
  • Working level skills in office equipment operation, records management, and event coordination
  • Basic knowledge in graphic design, database administration and budget monitoring
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism
  • Ability to interpret and apply policies and procedures effectively

The Toronto Cricket Skating and Curling Club is a private athletic and social club in North Toronto. The Club has a rich history dating back to the establishment of the Toronto Cricket Club in 1827 which merged with the Toronto Skating Club and the Toronto - Victoria Curling and Bowlin Club in 1957.

The Club offers a wide variety of athletics including Aquatics, Cricket, Croquet, Curling, Fitness, Lawn Bowling, Skating, Squash and Tennis with programs and facilities for all skill levels and ages. Along with our athletics, we offer a number of dining options that include bistro dining to a casual sports bar. We also offer options for our families with regular events around the club including pumpkin carving, family skating, recreational swimming and outdoor movie nights.
