MEDICAL OFFICE ASSISTANT

Sea to Sky Plastic Surgery in West Vancouver is seeking a highly skilled and professional Medical Office Assistant to join our team. This position is ideal for an experienced candidate who thrives in a fast-paced, patient-focused surgical practice and demonstrates exceptional organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. QUALIFICATIONS:
- Excellent multi-tasking and prioritization skills
- Very detail oriented with strong organization skills
- Timely and effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple competing priorities
- Ability to work well under pressure and use good judgment in assessing difficult situations
- Patient-centered attitude
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to work independently in running the practice
- Excellent reliability
- Graduate of recognized Medical Office Assistant program is an asset
- Experience in surgical booking is an asset
- More than two years experience working in a medical office or similar environment is an asset
- Experience in using Electronic Medical Records (eg. Accuro) is an asset
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Greeting patients and clients
- Booking and scheduling appointments (both in the office and for hospital based clinics)
- Answering phones and returning phone messages
- Answering emails
- Triaging patient referrals
- Maintaining up-to-date schedules for the practice
- Booking patients for surgery at the hospital
- Ordering supplies and managing office inventory
- Sterilizing instruments
- Cleaning and changing over exam rooms
- Scanning and faxing
- Transactions and billing
REQUIREMENTS
- Current criminal background check
- Able to commute daily (Mon - Fri) to West Vancouver
- Permanent resident status
HOURS
- Full time hours, Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm = 37.5hr/wk

The successful candidate must be highly reliable, proactive, and capable of working independently while managing the many facets of a busy surgical practice.
