Your future role on our team
You'll be in charge of a contractor's activities in the heavy construction or mining industry, a specific work sector or all the activities within a discipline on a work site. You’ll ensure work progresses according to schedule, complies with drawings and specifications, is carried out safely and is coordinated with other stakeholders on site. You must have expertise in one or more of the following disciplines:
- Civil works
- Foundations
- Steel structures and architecture
- Mechanical systems
- Piping
- Electrical
- Instrumentation and automation

- Coordinate the contractor's daily activities with the various stakeholders on site
- Ensure the project quality plan, drawings and specifications are applied
- Ensure work is carried out safely according to the project owner's prevention program
- Understand the scope of work under your supervision and identify out-of-scope work
- Ensure work progresses according to the established schedule; if delays occur, help develop solutions to catch up
- Collaborate with engineering, procurement, contract administration, and health and safety teams to resolve issues
- Produce daily and weekly progress reports, and document site activities for reference in case of a dispute
- Participate in weekly contract review meetings and observe onsite operations
- Support contract administration in evaluating extra-contractual work

Summary of certifications and job requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or college diploma in civil, mechanical, electrical, structural, piping, instrumentation/automation or construction engineering
- Over five years of experience in the construction, heavy industry or engineering sectors
- Strong report-writing skills and ability to work on a multidisciplinary team
- Advanced English skills to facilitate collaboration with other BBA offices and/or clients located in English-speaking Canadian provinces and abroad
- Advanced French skills to collaborate effectively with BBA offices and/or clients within Québec
- Strong ability to communicate and problem-solve
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- ASP Construction training
- Asset: technical experience in more than one discipline (civil, structural, mechanical, piping, electrical, instrumentation/automation)
