Overview WildBrain Studios is looking for Designers, 2D to join our team!

Reporting to the Producer and working with the Art Director, you will execute key designs and create original concepts and environments. This position is responsible for maintaining the show style and ensuring that the designs work within the story specifications.

These positions are required to be located in BC, Canada, and start Spring 2026.

Responsibilities & Qualifications What You'll Do:

  • Work with the Art Director and other Designers to create engaging, performable characters, props, and background designs according to the style of the production
  • Translate descriptions and attitude from script to visual design ensuring consistency and quality throughout your work
  • Ensure key and layout location designs are suitable in function and form for the style required by the Art Director
  • Produce designs that show strong understanding of perspective, proportion, composition and staging
  • Submit multiple design variations and revisions based on feedback from Directors
  • Create model sheets of character turnarounds and facial/anatomical expressions
  • Organize and manage work and files efficiently
  • Other tasks and responsibilities as required for completion of the project

What You'll Bring

  • Previous experience designing for a 2D series
  • You have a strong understanding of proportion, balance, perspective, dimension and dynamism
  • You are able to take direction and work collaboratively within a team
  • You have the ability to communicate professionally and positively
  • You are well-organized with good time management skills
  • Proficient in Photoshop

Nice T o Have

  • Strong drawing ability and a solid sense of design for 2D animation
  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to adapt to multiple production styles
  • Experience in character rotations on a series preferred
  • Degree/Diploma from a recognized animation school desired

This is a Union position and the terms and conditions of employment are covered by a collective agreement. Why WildBrain

Pay Range Union minimum $1150 - $1400 CAD per week based on a 40-hour work week.

Candidates are paid within the range posted, but their exact pay will vary based on the level, responsibilities and expectations of the role. We also take into consideration the experience and skills that individual brings, with consideration of our internal equity.
