The Team Lead supervises the Sonobuoy production line during the night shift while ensuring volume, quality, safety and cost goals are met. Provides hiring, promotion and disciplinary action recommendations, as well as performance evaluation and feedback for direct reports.

Night shift schedule is Sunday to Thursday, 9:30 PM to 7:00 AM, operating on a 9-day fortnight rotation, which provides every second Thursday off.

Nationality Requirements

Candidates must be eligible to obtain the relevant security clearance required for the role, due to the nature of the programmes we deliver for our customers.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and direction to a team of unionized production personnel during night shift.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring adherence to production schedules and quality standards.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the value stream.
  • Implement and enforce safety protocols to maintain a secure working environment
  • Foster effective communication and teamwork. Identify training needs within the team and coordinate training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Work closely with the quality assurance team to ensure that products meet defined quality standards. Implement corrective actions and preventive measures as necessary.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, logistics, quality, engineering, and maintenance, to ensure seamless operations within the value stream.
  • Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and improve overall efficiency.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to the value stream.
  • Generate regular reports on production performance and contribute to data-driven decision-making.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Proven experience in a supervisory or leadership role within a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing or operational setting.
  • Familiarity with Lean or Agile methodologies and continuous improvement practices.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze data and implement data-driven solutions.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Knowledge of quality assurance principles and practices.

Typically, a Bachelor Degree (or equivalent) in a related field and 3+ years of related experience.
