Your Role as an Intermediate Transportation Engineer:
Choose your own adventure! Let’s talk about how your skills, experience, goals, and passions can find a home at JLR. As an Intermediate Transportation Engineer, your role will include:
- Preparing and reviewing Transportation Impact Assessments (TIAs) in accordance with municipal guidelines for communities throughout Ontario, with an emphasis on the City of Ottawa TIA Guidelines.
- Undertaking Noise Impacts Assessments and Parking Studies
- Conducting intersection capacity analysis and operational reviews using Synchro and SIDRA.
- Developing traffic-calming plans and design concepts for transportation network improvements.
- Developing and presenting technical reports, memos, and presentations to clients and approval authorities.
- Liaising with municipal staff, developers, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure transportation planning objectives are met.
- Working collaboratively with other stakeholders to achieve corporate objectives and ensure positive outcomes for the entire organization.
- Working with an established, multi-disciplinary, integrated technical team of engineers, technologists, and support staff to build innovative transportation solutions for our clients.
- Developing, managing, and expanding the client base and business opportunities in JLR’s Transportation Engineering Discipline.
- Providing oversight to junior staff and support to our project leaders delivering work in this discipline.
- Thinking strategically about current and future project opportunities, researching trends, and building short-term and long-term plans for growth.
- Mentoring and coaching junior staff and contribute to internal knowledge- sharing and process improvement.
- Utilizing VBA to streamline data analysis, automate repetitive tasks, and enhance modeling tools.
