About the Role:

Quickplay is seeking a Jira Administrator to lead the configuration, administration, and customization of the Jira software platform and its associated Atlassian tools (Confluence, Bitbucket, etc.). You will work closely with cross-functional teams—including backend development, client development, project management, and business stakeholders—to optimize workflows, improve productivity, and support Agile methodologies. Your goal will be to ensure that Jira serves as a central hub for efficient project tracking, reporting, and collaboration.

Responsibilities:

  • Customization & Workflow Management: Customize Jira workflows, permission schemes, notification schemes, and dashboards to meet the needs of multiple teams.
  • Data Integrity & Security: Ensure data integrity and security across the Jira platform by performing regular audits, updates, and upgrades.
  • Automation & Integration:
    • Design and implement Jira automation rules to streamline processes such as ticket creations, transitions, notifications.
    • Integrate Jira with other tools (e.g., Version control, Service Now, Google Analytics, Lookers, Test automation, CI/CD pipelines) to ensure seamless data flow across systems.
    • Develop Jira REST API scripts and integrations with third-party systems as needed.
  • User Support & Training:
    • Provide day-to-day support to users, troubleshoot issues, and ensure optimal platform performance.
    • Onboard new teams and users, conducting training sessions and creating documentation for best practices.
    • Act as the primary point of contact for all Jira-related inquiries, ensuring timely resolution of tickets.
  • Agile Methodology Support:
    • Collaborate with Implementation Managers and Development teams to align Jira workflows with Agile best practices.
    • Implement solutions for Agile boards, burndown charts, velocity reports, and other performance metrics.
  • Performance Optimization & Reporting:
    • Design and generate reports, custom dashboards, and filters to support project tracking and KPIs for decision-making.
  • Governance & Compliance:
    • Establish and enforce governance best practices to maintain Jira instance hygiene, including archiving old projects and managing user permissions.
    • Ensure compliance with internal standards for all Jira data and configurations.

Success in this Role Requires:

  • Technical Leadership: Demonstrating advanced technical skills in Jira administration, automation, and integrations to optimize workflows and support Agile teams.

  • Collaboration & Communication: Strong ability to work cross-functionally with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to solve issues and improve efficiency.

  • Process Optimization: Proactively identifying opportunities to enhance workflows and system performance to support organizational goals.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Experience:
    • 3+ years of hands-on experience in Jira administration and with the Atlassian suite (Confluence, Bitbucket, etc.).
    • Experience with Jira automation, advanced workflows, Jira REST APIs, and custom Jira scripts.
    • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies (Kanban, Scrum) and supporting tools.
    • Experience integrating Jira with other systems like Git, Jenkins, AWS, and third-party tools such as Looker.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in Jira Administration (custom fields, workflows, screens, permissions, and notifications).
    • Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Groovy, Python) and Jira REST APIs for custom automation.
    • Experience with cloud environments (AWS, GCP) and managing Jira cloud infrastructure.
    • Solid knowledge of JQL (Jira Query Language) for database queries and Jira Dashboard creation.
    • Atlassian certifications (ACP100, ACP600 or higher) preferred.
  • Highly Favourable Skills:
    • Excellent communication and documentation skills to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
    • Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
