Daytime Household Assistant & Senior Companion – Bilingual (Mandarin/English) Location: Vancouver, BC Schedule: Full-Time Daytime Hours (Exact Schedule to Be Determined)
About the Role We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and organized individual to provide household support and companionship for a senior family member. This role combines household management, meal preparation, transportation assistance, and social support to help maintain a comfortable, active, and healthy lifestyle. The ideal candidate is warm, patient, proactive, and enjoys building meaningful relationships while assisting with day-to-day household and personal support needs.
Key Responsibilities Household Management Prepare nutritious, balanced meals and snacks Plan and manage grocery shopping and household supplies Perform light housekeeping, laundry, and home organization Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming home environment Senior Support & Companionship Provide companionship, conversation, and social engagement Encourage and accompany daily walks and light physical activities Support healthy daily routines and overall well-being Provide medication and hydration reminders Monitor general wellness and communicate concerns to family members Transportation & Coordination Drive and accompany the senior to appointments, errands, and social activities Assist with scheduling and coordinating appointments Support day-to-day tasks and special requests as needed Qualifications Fluent in both Mandarin and English Valid BC Driver’s Licence with a clean driving record Previous experience in household management, senior care, caregiving, hospitality, or a related role Strong cooking and meal preparation skills Excellent organizational and time-management abilities Compassionate, patient, dependable, and professional Strong communication and interpersonal skills First Aid and CPR certification is considered an asset Compensation & Benefits Competitive compensation based on experience Consistent full-time daytime schedule Supportive and respectful family environment Long-term opportunity for the right candidate Paid vacation and statutory holidays in accordance with BC employment standards
