Summary
The Director, IT Infrastructure is accountable for defining and executing the enterprise infrastructure strategy, ensuring the reliability, security, scalability, and cost-efficiency of IT infrastructure services. This role oversees US & Canada infrastructure operations including cloud platforms, networks, data centers, identity services, workplace technologies, and shared infrastructure services. The Director acts as a senior leader bridging strategic business objectives with operational execution, while leading a high-performing, distributed technical team.
Description
- Enterprise-wide IT infrastructure services across all operating companies;
- Cloud, network, hosting, identity, workplace and core IT platforms;
- Strategic vendors, managed service providers, and outsourcers;
- Infrastructure budgets, cost optimization, and forecasting;
- Operational resilience, cybersecurity posture, and regulatory compliance;
- Partnering with Group Shared Lines of Service to drive efficiencies.
Infrastructure Strategy & Architecture
- Define and execute enterprise infrastructure strategy aligned with business and digital transformation goals;
- Infrastructure strategy must align to Equans architecture and cybersecurity governances;
- Drive standardization, modernization, and platform convergence across operating companies and digital solutions;
- Partner with enterprise architecture and cybersecurity to ensure secure, scalable solutions.
Operations & Service Management
- Ensure high availability, performance, capacity, and reliability of infrastructure services;
- Own major incident management, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement programs;
- Oversee ITIL-based service management processes and KPIs;
- Partner with local IT teams to deliver business priorities.
Leadership & Talent Development
- Lead and develop managers, engineers, and operating company IT leaders;
- Drive workforce planning, recruitment, succession planning, and skills development;
- Build a culture of accountability, operational excellence, and customer focus.
Security, Risk & Resilience
- Ensure compliance with Group cybersecurity policies and regulatory requirements;
- Own infrastructure disaster recovery and business continuity strategies;
- Assess and mitigate infrastructure-related risks.
Vendor & Financial Management
- Manage strategic vendor relationships and outsourced service models;
- Own infrastructure budgets, cost allocation models, and financial performance;
- Ensure value realization and contract compliance.
Transformation & Programs
- Sponsor infrastructure transformation programs (cloud, network, workplace, modernization);
- Collaborate with PMO and application leaders on cross-functional initiatives;
- Provide executive-level reporting and decision support.
Requirements
- Authorized to work in Canada;
- Ability to pass required background checks and security screenings;
- 10+ years of progressive IT experience with senior responsibility for infrastructure leadership;
- Proven experience managing enterprise-scale, multi-region infrastructure environments;
- Demonstrated success leading large teams and transformation initiatives;
- Strong background in cloud platforms, networking, identity, and enterprise operations;
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred;
- ITIL, PMP, Agile, and/or cloud certifications strongly preferred;
- Level of spoken and written French: Beginner;
- Level of spoken and written English: Proficient;
- Frequency of English usage: Daily.

- Ability to influence at executive and board level;
- Excellent communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders;
- Comfort working in global, matrixed organizations;
