As the Chair, School of Creative Arts & Animation, you will play a pivotal role in leading one of Seneca Polytechnic’s most dynamic and multidisciplinary academic schools. You will provide academic and people leadership to faculty and staff across programs in art, animation, design, illustration, music, performance, visual effects, interactive media, and emerging creative technologies all with a strong focus on student success and industry readiness.
This role is ideal for a leader who thrives at the intersection of academic excellence, creative practice, and strategic thinking. You will bring people together around a shared vision, foster an inclusive and supportive culture, and guide the School’s evolution in alignment with Seneca’s Strategic Plan.

##Here’s some of what your role will involve:
- Lead academic quality, program delivery, and continuous improvement across a large and diverse School
- Support and empower faculty and staff through clear direction, coaching, and collaborative decision‑making
- Guide program evolution by staying attuned to industry trends, emerging technologies, and changing student needs
- Create conditions where students can thrive academically, creatively, and professionally
- Balance creativity with operational accountability, including budgets, resources, and infrastructure
- Work closely with Deans, Chairs, and institutional partners to advance shared academic priorities
- Build and sustain relationships with industry and community partners connected to the creative sector
- Ensure academic and operational practices align with institutional policies, collective agreements, and regulatory requirements
- Work closely with the Director of Seneca Film Institute to advance industry partnerships and innovation in storytelling forms and technologies
##What You Bring to Seneca:
- Significant experience in academic leadership, teaching, or a related post‑secondary environment
- Demonstrated experience leading faculty and staff within a complex academic or multidisciplinary setting
- A strong understanding of academic quality assurance, program development, and regulatory requirements.
- Degree or equivalent in Education Administration or any other related field; or an equivalent experience

**Pay Range:**Admin Pay Grade E: $152,818 - $213,944 (Hiring Range: $152,818 - $183,381)
For**all****Academic/Faculty positions,**the compensation step will be determined based on receiving and verifying relevant formal education through official transcripts and relevant work experience, in accordance with the salary placement calculation. For professor positions, we require copies of official transcripts directly from the issuing institution or credential evaluation from World Education Services (WES) or International Credential Assessment Service (ICAS). However, we recommend that candidates gather any supporting documentation (e.g., unofficial transcripts, scan of credentials) in advance to support their applications in the event that they are successful in the hiring process.
