We are currently seeking a talented individual to join our Transportation team. This dynamic role plays a vital part in shaping safer roads for Yukoners. You will work with collision and impaired driving data to guide the future of public safety campaigns and initiatives, making a real impact in your community. You’ll also have the opportunity to connect with the public by delivering engaging road safety presentations and assisting families with the safe installation of child car seats. This position is responsible for the coordination, development, and delivery of a variety of Road Safety programs and services. It involves data entry, research, and reporting to support the Yukon road safety program, managing public engagement activities, and coordinating, creating, and editing the branch’s internet websites and online presence.

Essential Qualifications

- Experience in program management and evaluation;
- Experience with data analysis and research;
- Experience presenting to members of the public;
- Experience interpreting and applying legislation;
- Experience working with the public, including in confined spaces such as assisting with car seat installations;
- Experience developing program messaging, plans, procedures and guidelines.
Candidates who have education, training, and/or experience equivalent to the essential qualifications listed above may be equally considered.
Desired knowledge, skills and suitability
The ideal candidate will possess these qualifications, skills and knowledge, but also demonstrate suitability for the role and organizational culture. Key competencies for success in this role include:

Road safety principles, policies, and best practices.

Program development, implementation, and evaluation methodologies.

Public awareness, education, and outreach strategies.

Strong communication (written, verbal, and presentation) for public education and stakeholder engagement.

Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Conditions of Employment
This is a designated position within the Yukon public service which requires the following condition(s) of employment:
- class 5 driver's licence or equivalent

Travel throughout the territory

Use of personal protective equipment

Work in adverse weather conditions
