Career Opportunity

The Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) is embarking on a strategic transformation to modernize its technology landscape and enhance service delivery across the organization. As part of this journey, we are seeking a visionary and results-oriented Director – IT Business Solutions to lead the strategic direction of the product portfolio within the Enterprise Solutions group.

What You Will Do

Reporting to the Senior Director of Enterprise Solutions for the Enterprise Resource Planning Portfolio, this leadership role is accountable for aligning the portfolio with TTC’s business objectives, driving value creation, and ensuring the sustainability of operations through innovative and effective technology strategies and initiatives.

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of TTC’s digital ecosystem, fostering cross-functional collaboration, and delivering high-impact solutions that support both current operations and long-term growth.

As the Director – IT Business Solutions (Corporate Operations), you will:

  • Partner with business owners and Enterprise Architecture (EA) to define and execute a strategic roadmap for the product portfolios, ensuring alignment with TTC’s overall business goals.

  • Lead the development and implementation of comprehensive technology strategies that maintain technological currency and support sustainable operations.

  • Oversee the full lifecycle of product delivery from inception to retirement—ensuring each product delivers measurable business value and meets stakeholder expectations.

  • Collaborate closely with teams across the IT Services department and business units to foster a culture of teamwork, transparency, and shared accountability.

  • Identify and prioritize market trends, customer needs, and emerging technologies to drive innovation and continuous improvement within the portfolio.

  • Provide strategic leadership across three critical product lines:

    • Finance – including SAP S/4HANA (GL, AP/AR, Asset Accounting, Controlling) and SAP Concur for travel and expense management.
  • Supply Chain Management – including SAP S/4HANA MM and WM, Ariba, and Fieldglass.

  • Information Technology & Engineering – including platforms such as ServiceNow (ITSM), Azure DevOps, and specialized engineering and construction solutions.

  • Ensure the product portfolio delivers high-impact IT capabilities in alignment with TTC’s operational priorities, standards, and future-state architecture.

  • Integrate business strategies into the product roadmap, ensuring long-term alignment with TTC’s vision and operational priorities.

  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality IT services through effective design, implementation, and ongoing optimization of solutions.

  • Demonstrate behaviors that support diversity, inclusion, and a respectful work and service environment that is free from discrimination and harassment. What Qualifications You Bring

  • You have successfully completed a post-secondary college diploma or university degree in a relevant discipline such as Computer Science, Engineering, or Business—or possess an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

  • Deep knowledge of product management, agile methodologies, UX best practices, and data-driven decision-making.

  • Strategic Leadership: Proven ability to align technology strategies with business goals and lead high-performing teams.

  • Project & People Management: Strong skills in project delivery, team leadership, coaching, and performance management.

  • Communication & Collaboration: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; adept at working across functions and influencing stakeholders.

  • Analytical Thinking: Skilled in problem-solving, risk management, and navigating complex environments.

  • Customer Focus: Committed to service excellence and transforming delivery models.

  • Operational Experience: Background in vendor management, budgeting, and implementing mission-critical solutions.

  • Demonstrated experience with technologies within the portfolio, including:

    • SAP S/4HANA Finance (GL, AP/AR, AA, CO) and SAP Concur

    • SAP Supply Chain modules (MM, WM), Ariba, and Fieldglass

    • ServiceNow, Azure DevOps, and engineering/construction IT solutions

  • Possess or can rapidly acquire comprehensive knowledge of the Ontario Human Rights Code and Related Orders, including requirements for disability accommodation and accessibility for both employees and passengers.
