Your Role in Supporting Our Members:

As an Assistant Branch Manager, you will play a key leadership role in delivering exceptional, relationship-based banking experiences for members. You will support the development and performance of member-facing staff, build strong relationships with members and community partners, and contribute to branch business outcomes through thoughtful leadership and service excellence. This role is well suited to a people-focused leader with strong business acumen, excellent communication skills, and a passion for developing others while delivering meaningful member experiences.

This is a Full-time, Permanent role based in Vancouver and will report directly to the Branch Manager.

How You'll Make an Impact:

  • Contributing to a respectful, culturally grounded environment that reflects local Indigenous values

  • Building the business and financial planning acumen of member-facing staff to deliver excellent member experiences

  • Facilitating high-quality member interactions through effective lobby management and relationship management

  • Managing day-to-day service delivery including staffing, scheduling, traffic flow, and issue resolution

  • Supporting members with complex financial needs during high-volume periods

  • Assisting the Branch Manager with planning to achieve financial and operational objectives

  • Coaching and supporting staff in advice, referral, and service delivery aligned with branch goals

  • Strengthening long-term relationships with members and community partners

  • Identifying opportunities to improve internal processes, service delivery, and operational effectiveness

What You’ll Bring to the Team:

  • At least 3 years of overall experience within the financial industry or a related field, 1 year of which at a leadership capacity

  • Solid Business acumen in the context of the financial industry.

  • Advanced Knowledge of relevant Vancity products, policies, procedures, systems, tools, products and services.

  • Advanced Knowledge of Vancity strategies, functions and programs

  • A High School Diploma (or similar level of educational attainment)

Extra Skills That Set You Apart:

  • Post Secondary Education/Diploma (Business Administration or Finance)

  • Successful completion of the Investment Funds in Canada (IFIC) or the Canadian Securities Course (CSC)

  • Successful completion of three courses towards the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation

  • Successful completion of coaching modules in alignment with Vancity's current training and development educational standards.

  • A Decisive Problem-Solver - you are confident in your decision-making skills to optimize operational capability, to diagnose problems in the context of business, financial and member impacts, and to identify viable solutions.

  • Analytical - you assess internal processes and identify opportunities for improvement, and to manage revenue and expenses.

What You’ll Earn:

This role offers a salary range of $86,400 to $101,600 per annum. Base pay offered may vary depending on factors such as relevant qualifications, skills, previous experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards package, employees may also be eligible for our annual incentive program, subject to program eligibility requirements.
