Department: Cancer Education

Reports to: Director, Knowledge Translation, Cancer Education Program

Status: Temporary Full-Time (12-month contract with option for renewal)

Hours: 37.5 Hours Per Week

Shifts: Monday-Friday

Closing Date: September 12, 2025 Position Summary The successful candidate will work closely with the Director of Knowledge Translation and the team within the Cancer Education Program, as well as with colleagues at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre (PM), to support education programs and projects. The Administrative Assistant will be a key member Cancer Education team and bring in expertise in managing administrative tasks, coordinating projects, and communicating with stakeholders.

Duties Working under the direction of the Director, Knowledge Translation, Cancer Education Program, the successful candidate will:

  • Support digital and in-person education offerings, including room and meeting bookings, catering and event set-up, and communications with stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with the team to deliver high-quality and impactful educational programming and events.
  • Proactively manage potential issues and communicate regularly with the Director about project milestones and needs.
  • Develop a feedback model to assess the impact of education initiatives.
  • Support and steward finances and financial disbursements related to education program expenses.
  • Perform cross-functional and/or other duties consistent with the job classification, as assigned or requested

Qualifications

  • At a minimum, a completion of a Bachelor's degree.
  • A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in an education/ administrative role.
  • Experience in a project coordination/management.
  • Experience with developing and working with budgets is an asset.
  • Exercises initiative and good judgement with the ability to multi-task
  • Excellent decision-making, problem-solving and negotiation skills required.
  • Excellent conflict resolution, team building and interpersonal skills required
  • Excellent organization and time management skills required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
  • Ability to perform duties professionally and courteously and produce high-quality work while meeting deadlines in accordance to UHN standards
  • Client service-oriented with the ability to create an inclusive environment that values diversity and encourages people to contribute their personal best.
