What can you expect?
Servers are essential in providing exceptional service to guests. The ideal candidate will have a passion for mixology, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to create memorable experiences for our guests. Servers work under the supervision of the Outlet Manager, supervisors, and closely with all culinary and distribution departments at Sunshine.
This job might be right for you if you think you would really enjoy:
- Greeting guests promptly and courteously, providing menus and drink lists.
- Taking accurate food and beverage orders, answering any questions and making recommendations as needed.
- Serving food and drinks promptly, ensuring orders are accurate and meet our quality standards.
- Monitoring guest satisfaction, addressing any concerns or special requests in a professional manner.
- Maintaining knowledge of menu items, including ingredients, preparation methods, and potential allergens.
- Upselling additional menu items such as appetizers, desserts, and beverages to enhance the dining experience.
- Seting up tables with appropriate settings and ensure a clean, welcoming environment.
- Clearing and resetting tables promptly to accommodate new guests.
- Assisting in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the dining area.
- Assisting with the setup, service, and breakdown of events, ensuring guest needs are met.
- Working closely with kitchen staff and other servers to ensure timely and accurate service.
- Participating in pre-shift meetings to review daily specials, menu changes, and any special instructions.
- Supporting colleagues during peak periods and provide assistance as needed to maintain smooth operations.
Administrative and Reporting Responsibilities
- Timely and accurate incident and deficiencies reporting.
- Completing all training documentation.
- Effective, professional, and responsible cash handling.
Other duties may be requested and assigned from time to time.
And you have:
- Proven experience as a Server in a high-volume restaurant, bar, or hotel environment. (2-3 yrs)
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbally.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in using point-of-sale (POS) systems for order taking and payment processing.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Maintain professional conduct when in uniform, on or off-duty, and online.
- Effectively provide support and assistance to coworkers.
- Certification in ProServe is required.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in hospitality or bartending is a plus.
Additional considerations:
- Employees must always be of sound mind, exhibit good judgment, and report to work fit for duty.
- This position works at high altitude and at times, in inclement weather. Prolonged periods of standing, repetitive motions, bending and twisting is required.
- Some required uniform pieces are provided.
This role is subject to all terms and conditions of the Sunshine Village Employee Handbook and Policy Manual, and the Alberta Employment Standards Code.
