Veterinary Assistant and Receptionist
Location: Calgary, AB
Full Time Permanent
Schedule: Overnights (overnight premium wage)
Calgary North Animal Hospital 24-hour Emergency Service is hiring a full time overnight Tech Assistant Receptionist to join our fun and motivated team of professional pet health caregivers!
This is a position that offers the opportunity to witness and experience working around a very stimulating and varying patient caseload. This position also come with an attractive overnight premium that is added to the wage. Veterinary experience or certificate is an asset but not required.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting Veterinarians and Technicians with various tasks and treatment of pet patients
- Providing compassionate care duties including feeding and walking patients
- General hospital maintenance including cleaning kennels
- Completing overnight reception duties including intake and discharge of patients
Qualifications
- Exceptional client service skills that build trust and loyalty with clients
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with a dynamic and diverse team
- Compassion and nurturing attitude when providing care to clients and patients
- Ability to remain calm and efficient in stressful situations
- Positive outlook and enthusiasm for learning
- Initiative in carrying out assignments independently
- Previous veterinary education or certificate is considered an asset
