Make your mark while you grow your career! As a member of the Drilling team, you will be involved in Canadian drilling and completion activities with a focus on delivering safe, efficient operations while promoting the Canadian Natural mission statement. You will have the opportunity to participate in operational execution and support both pre-planning and post-drilling reviews of projects across a wide range of areas. Frequent field/rig visits are required with strong focus on supporting wellsite operations and promoting a positive safety culture.

  • Location: Calgary, Alberta
  • Schedule: 5 x 2, 8-hour shifts (Monday – Friday)
  • Safety Sensitive: Yes

Key Accountabilities

  • Supervise up to four drilling rigs operating 24/7
  • Ensure compliance with all provincial regulations and maintain consistent reporting and practices
  • Support operated and joint venture assets, ensuring strong communication with asset teams (construction, completions, production)
  • Prepare accurate drilling AFEs and review/approve invoices through OpenInvoice
  • Complete End-of-Well summaries, identifying learnings and improvement opportunities to support continuous improvement
  • Assist Drilling Engineers with well design, cost/time estimates, and peer/post reviews
  • Collaborate with vendors to achieve KPI targets, maximize efficiency, and reduce well costs

What You Bring to the Role:

  • 10 plus years of technical/operational experience in conventional and/or thermal drilling and completions activities
  • Extensive drilling rig leadership experience in single and pad drilling environments
  • Strong project management skills across multi-discipline, complex projects and rig experience
  • Ability to lead technical change through innovation, risk management, implementation, mentorship and sustainment
