As Senior Accountant with a focus on revenue accounting, you’ll own and elevate the entire revenue cycle—leading invoicing, payment reminders, and collections—while ensuring every transaction is accurate and fully compliant with accounting standards and commercial agreements. This role goes far beyond traditional accounting tasks; you’ll partner closely with Sales and Operations to shape processes that drive revenue recognition, improve cash flow, and strengthen internal controls. From month-end close to strategic analysis, you’ll bring technical accounting expertise together with commercial insight to streamline systems, uncover efficiencies, and influence decisions across the business.
This role is ideal for someone who wants to grow into broader finance or operational leadership. You’ll solve complex problems, design new approaches, and collaborate across teams to build a best-in-class revenue function—setting yourself up for the next step in your career while helping Semios scale sustainably.
What you will do:

Monthly Close Process: Execute the monthly, quarterly and year-end close process to ensure accurate and timely financial statements and management reporting, ensuring best practice and efficiency without compromising quality. The Monthly close process includes the preparation of journal entries, reconciliations, analytics and working papers to achieve and prepare the financial results.

Financial Analysis: Preparation and review of month-end and year-end working papers, including Balance Sheet reconciliation reconciliation reports and functional/departmental analysis reports.

Statutory & Regulatory Compliance: Contribute to the year-end audit efforts, including close collaboration with external auditors, and assist with the production of year end statutory accounts. Prepare regulatory and tax filings in all of Semios’ jurisdictions and ensure compliance.

Leadership: Provide guidance and support by identifying opportunities. Collaborate with departments such as FP&A, Tax, Operations, and Legal to provide accounting insight on business initiatives, new contracts, or operational changes. Ensure alignment between accounting treatment and business strategy.

Monitor and maintain internal control processes to ensure compliance with accounting policies and mitigate financial risks. Identify opportunities for automation, standardization, and process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.

Identify accounting issues and improvements as they occur and recommend solutions. Maintain a high level of proficiency in ERP and financial systems to support accurate reporting, system integrity, and financial process automation. Participate in system enhancements, testing, and implementation of new features.

Revenue Accounting):

Lead with and optimize invoicing and the payment reminder/ collection processes, working in partnership with the Junior Accountant, with emphasis being effectiveness and efficiency.

Ensure accurate revenue recognition in accordance with accounting standards, company policy and commercial terms; supported by month-end close practices through complete and accurate reconciliations, journal entries and analysis.

Collaborate with cross-function teams from all levels of the organization to ensure billing and customer alignment.

Ensure all revenue related compliance and regulatory compliance requirements are prepared appropriately and filed accurately and on time, including commissions.
This position will be required to work on-site at least 2 days per week in alignment with the department and subject to change.
Requirements
We want you to succeed, so you will need:
-2+ years of industry experience in financial reporting, internal controls, or audit-related functions, preferably within a fast-paced startup environment
- Qualified CPA (Canada, USA or equivalent)
- A resilient, flexible, solution oriented approach to addressing areas of improvement, likes digging into issues and enjoys taking leadership in addressing problems
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
- Self-directed, highly motivated and energetic
- Outstanding work ethic with strong commitment to quality and delivering on time
- Comfortable as an individual contributor, collaborative team member and leader
Nice to Have
- Background in public practice serving manufacturing and SaaS clients, with hands-on experience in revenue accounting.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365
- A desire to improve productivity through automation and tool implementation
- A track record of identifying and implementing improvements that drive efficiencies and business performance
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Google Suite
Salary range:$90,000 to $100,000 per year
We publish a salary range to provide transparency and represent the full growth potential of the role; as a result, offers are made based on demonstrated mastery and experience and generally fall near the midpoint.
