Our Calgary Head Office location is seeking an experienced Accounting & Payroll Coordinator to support our diverse operations. This is a full-time, in-office position with a temporary one-year contract.
Description:
Reporting to the Controller, the Accounting & Payroll Coordinator supports EFC Developments (2020) Ltd. and Aviation Ground Fueling Technologies (2020) Ltd. and is responsible for providing overall administrative and accounting support to management and staff, including office administration and basic accounting and payroll functions.
Finance and Accounting Support
- Support accounts payable, including invoice data entry, employee expense reports, and vendor statement reconciliations
- Manage company credit card transactions, including account statement reconciliation and data entry
- Respond to internal and external accounts payable inquiries in a professional, timely, and courteous manner.
- Perform weekly accounts receivable collections, including proactive follow-up on overdue accounts
- Complete and submit customer EFT forms and vendor credit applications.
Payroll & HR Support
- Process bi-weekly payroll, ensuring compliance with applicable legislation
- Prepare payroll related journal entries and assist with payroll reconciliations, including PIER reporting
- Support recruitment and staffing efforts, including posting job advertisements and coordinating employee onboarding
- Prepare and distribute annual T4s
- Administer employee benefits, including enrollment, changes, and coordination with providers
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee personnel files
Office Administration Support
- Provide administrative support, including preparation of reports, spreadsheets, letters, and presentations
- Coordination and complete office tasks including ordering office and kitchen supplies
- Prepare and maintain meeting minutes for senior leadership meetings
- Perform any other duties as required
Experience and Qualifications:

Post-secondary degree in accounting or business administration is preferred

Minimum of 2 - 3 years of basic accounting and payroll experience

Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Experience with Microsoft NAV or Business Central would be considered an asset

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization

Proven problem solving and decision-making abilities, with sound judgment

Strong time management, organizational, and prioritization skills, with high attention to detail

Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion

Customer focused with a service-oriented mindset

Able to work both collaboratively and independently as a productive member of the EFC Developments Team.
