Reporting to the Regional Director and Vice President of Long-Term Care and Retirement, the Senior Executive Director plays a pivotal role in enriching the lives of residents by providing strategic leadership and operational oversight to ensure that Southbridge Homes deliver exceptional quality of care, resident satisfaction, and regulatory compliance. This role supports and collaborates closely with Regional Directors and Home leadership teams, offering guidance and direction on operational priorities, performance improvement, and organizational standards. The Senior Executive Director plays a key role in fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and collaboration while ensuring the effective management of human, financial, and physical resources across assigned Homes.
This is a full-time position based in a professional office environment. Standard working hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional need for overtime during peak periods. The role involved prolonged periods of sitting and working on a computer. The employee must be able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work alongside the Regional Directors, supporting the Southbridge Homes on a need-to-need basis.
- Provide overall leadership to ensure that residents goals and objectives are achieved.
- Managed of all humans, financial and physical resources for the various departments.
- Recruit team members and aid in their professional development by fostering an environment focused on knowledge sharing and skill building.
- Take part in the lives of the residents, their families’ and the local community to share the mission, vision and values of the residence.
- Collaborate in the budgeting process and manage the facility within the budget while overseeing the accounting operations for the residence.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Skills Required:
- Post-secondary degree (3-year program) or diploma (2-year program) in Health or Social Services.
- Completion of the Administrator’s Certification (minimum 100 hours of instruction).
- Ontario Fire Safety: Training for Owners/Operators Course Certificate.
- Proven leadership with strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams and complex operations.
- Strong financial acumen with sound knowledge of accounting principles and related legislation.
- Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety practices and applicable legislation.
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Customer-focused approach with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with residents, families, and staff.
- Creative and adaptable, with a focus on continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
- Flexibility to participate in the manager on-call rotation.
- Negative Vulnerable Sector Check completed within six (6) months of hire.
- Completion of 2-Step TB Skin Test within the last 12 months.
