What You’ll Do
Gyptech is seeking a Welder/Fitter to join our team. Your role will involve:
- Reading & interpreting blueprint drawings & specifications to develop a plan to layout, fit and weld components
- Following all CWB approved welding procedures for prepping and welding mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminum
- Developing templates and other work aids to hold and align parts
- Adequately prepping and inspecting all materials and welds
- Using and maintaining tools, machinery, material-handling and safety equipment
- Maintaining welding equipment & a clean workspace
- Helping with assembling subcomponents and components
This position is based out of our manufacturing facility in Oakville. Hours of work are Monday to Thursday, 6:00am to 4:30pm with some overtime required.
What You Offer
- Fitter-Welder Trade Certificate (437A) with experience in a manufacturing plant is an asset
- Able to weld in all positions using GMAW, GTAW and FCAW
- Bridge crane experience is an asset
- Strong communication skills - Fluent in English
- Ability to read AutoCAD and Inventor prints
- Must work well independently and within a team environment
- Ability to organize work under project deadline constraints
- Strong problem-solving skills and decision-making abilities
- Able to lift up to 50lbs
- Must possess a valid driver’s license
