Our Family Resource Network in Stettler is seeking a: Full Time Permanent Family Support Worker

The FRN (Family Resource Network) is funded through the Childcare and Early Intervention Delivery Division of The Ministry of Children and Family Services and has been created to provide Alberta families, children and youth aged 0-18 with evidence based and informed services. The services offered by the FRN will include child development, well-being support, caregiver capacity building support and social connections and supports. The FRN will recognize and respond to the unique and diverse experiences the users have. The FRN will provide a continuum of prevention and early intervention services including universal, targeted, and intensive programming dependent on the need of the users.

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Diploma in the Human Services Field and minimum 2 years human services experience

  • Proof of Membership in Professional Association (when applicable)

  • Committed to provide common sense, understandable and useful parenting skills.

  • Basic First Aid Level C with adult, child, and infant CPR &AED

  • Suicide Intervention Training & De-Escalation Training

  • Intervention Record & Criminal Record Checks with the vulnerable sector

  • Class 5 divers license, clean drivers abstract and reliable vehicle for client transportation required.

  • Knowledge of the Child, Youth, Family Enhancement Act considered an asset.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • In home support to families with children aged 0-18

  • Family Assessment and Intervention

  • Coaching and mentoring parents

  • Life skills training with parents and children (6 – 18 yrs.)

  • Linking families with community services

  • Family support and advocacy

  • Driving clients to and from designated locations.

  • Facilitating Case Conferences and Family Support Network Meetings

  • Group facilitation of children, youth, and parents

Wage Range: $25.84 - $28.90 per hour. Wage to be negotiated based on directly related experience. Plus, Travel Reimbursement at $0.55/KM.

Hours of work: 40 hours per week. A flexible schedule is required with availability to work evenings and weekends to meet client needs.
