Title: Quality Supervisor

Reports to: Quality Manager

Based at: Mucci Pac Ltd., Kingsville, ON

Type of Employment: Full time, permanent, 6-days a week, Monday to Saturday, steady afternoon shift or and potentially extended hours depending on workload and priorities, which could include possible Sunday shifts (unless otherwise stipulated in offer of employment).

Job Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

• Execute all facets of the Quality Assurance Program as advised by Corporate Quality Manager.
• Deploy a variety of quality training methods with new and tenured employees.
• Identify and assess future and current quality training needs through job analysis.
• Ability to create an individualized quality training and development plan that addresses needs for coaching and improving.
• Coordinate appointments and inspections as required with government regulatory bodies (CFIA / USDA).
• Conduct effective induction and orientation sessions for Quality team members.
• Monitor and evaluate the success and effectiveness of the quality training programs and periodically report on them to management.
• Create an environment that promotes ongoing employee development and internal promotion.
• Maintain a keen understanding of quality training trends, product rejections and quality standards for the produce industry.
• Execute all skills required of a Competent supervisor (health and safety, food safety, incident investigation etc.).
• Responsible for the discipline and scheduling of all direct reports.
• Any additional duties or responsibilities.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Minimum 2 years of experience within the Produce industry.
• Track record in designing and executing successful quality training programs.
• Proven experience in coaching and training front line associates.
• Familiarity with traditional and modern quality training methods (mentoring, coaching, on-the-job or in classroom training, e-learning, workshops, simulations, etc).
• Must have strong time management skills with emphasis on meeting deadlines.
• Strong writing and record keeping ability for reports and training.
• Ability to plan, multi-task and manage time effectively.
• Must be comfortable being on-call after hours for any facility matters and issues.
• Must be highly skilled with Microsoft Office Suites Programs.
• Comfortable working in fast paced environment.
• Strong leadership skills and dispute resolution experience.
• Some training and development may be required for growth purposes.
• Excellent, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
• Secondary language skills are considered an asset.

Physical Abilities:

• Must be able to sit, stand, and/or walk for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with body, arms, and/or legs.
• Must be able to lift material regularly up to 14 kg / 30 lbs; and occasionally up to 23 kg / 50lbs.
• Must be able to climb stairs and stand on feet for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to work in a temperature-controlled environment of approximately 10 ˚C / 50 ˚F.
