Position Summary Trainer, Clinical Informatics The Trainer plays a key role in facilitating end-user adoption and effective utilization of the Oracle Health System. You show interest and commitment in assisting front-line staff and learners in becoming more skilled and proficient in the use of Oracle Health applications. You have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively work with staff and learners from different disciplines and care areas at North York General Hospital. You understand hospital operations and clinical workflows. You have strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information effectively to groups. You are customer orientated with customer support experience. You demonstrate the ability to work independently and have good organizational skills. You can work with the Digital Health team in a fast-paced changing environment. You have good problem-solving abilities. You exhibit proficiency in facilitating knowledge transfer regarding the utilization of computerized clinical applications. This position supports the Hospital’s academic mandate by advancing care through teaching and learning and/or transforming care through research and innovation. This position contributes to the shared responsibility of ensuring health and safety policies are followed to provide for a healthy environment for staff, physicians, volunteers, learners, patients, and families.

On a practical level, you will

  • Conduct training sessions on the use of the Oracle Health System
  • Evaluate learner competency and report feedback to departments as needed
  • Record, maintain and report on Oracle Health training session attendance and knowledge confirmation signoffs
  • Stays informed with new functionality and system workflows available in the Oracle Health application; assists in the provision of end user support as required
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
  • Work safely in accordance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in a clinical discipline; health science or Information Management
  • At least 2 to 3 years’ experience in providing adult education
  • Comprehensive knowledge and proficiency in the use of Oracle Health applications such as PowerChart, Firstnet, Surginet, Scheduling, Registration, and other modules and related devices; or equivalent.
  • Basic Computer skills e.g. Microsoft Office, Outlook email
  • Bilingualism in French/English an asset

This is a Full-Time Temporary position of 12 months with 8 hour shifts, days shifts in the Clinical Informatics department.
