About the role

What is the opportunity?

We’re looking for a creative and strategic Events & Social Media Manager to join our Marketing & Brand team. In this role, you’ll be the driving force behind our brand’s presence, online and in-person. You’ll plan and execute memorable events while crafting a compelling digital voice that broadens and deepens engagement.

What will you do?

  • Oversee the planning and execution of entertainment and brand events, including receptions, golf tournaments, and other RBC brand sponsored events
  • Work with the business to develop relevant and effective event plans for proprietary client, client entertainment, external industry conferences and internal events.
  • Draft and manage the design, approval, and distribution of event-related material, including invitations, reminders, agendas, signage and program documents
  • Negotiate and oversee all aspects of event production, including audio-visual, staging, recordings and any other requirements
  • Develop and execute strategies for managing digital channels, including social media platforms and marketing automation tools, to enhance brand presence and engagement
  • Coordinate, monitor and report on social media performance (LinkedIn, X and any other social media platforms)
  • Partner with the wider marketing team to deliver RBC Investor Services’ social media program – including coordinating, monitoring, reporting on LinkedIn performance, training users and maintaining policy documents
  • Support the adoption of marketing automation tools across the business

What do you need to succeed?

Must Have

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in event management
  • Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills
  • Experience using Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point required
  • Ability to think strategically, critically and connect sponsorship with business objective and brand strategy
  • Must bring a detailed and disciplined approach to events management; able to manage contract, data, asset, and financial details accurately

Nice to Have

  • Understanding of Canadian asset management and asset servicing industry
  • Working knowledge of French
  • Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) designation or Certificate in Meeting Management (CMM)
