About the role

Custom Cubes is seeking a highly organized and technically skilled individual to support r in coordinating design and production activities, managing project documentation, and communicating directly with clients. This role blends construction coordination with drafting expertise and requires strong proficiency in Microsoft 365 and SharePoint.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate between design and production teams to ensure alignment on project requirements, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Organize and maintain project documentation using Microsoft SharePoint, ensuring version control, metadata tagging, and accessibility for stakeholders.
  • Communicate directly with clients to provide updates, clarify requirements, and resolve issues in a professional and timely manner.
  • Create construction drawings from scratch using SketchUp, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project specifications.
  • Interpret and work with stamped/sealed drawings and apply relevant building code requirements to ensure regulatory compliance.

Skills & Qualifications

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in SketchUp or similar drafting/layout software
  • Strong command of Microsoft 365, especially SharePoint, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to create construction drawings from scratch
  • Understanding of stamped/sealed drawings and building code requirements
  • Familiarity with constructability and building processes
  • Experience with ERP systems (preferred)
  • Aptitude for calculating time and material costs

Organizational & Analytical Skills

  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent organizational skills for managing documentation and project components
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple streams of work
  • Problem-solving and troubleshooting construction-related issues

Communication & Interpersonal Skills

  • Excellent communication skills — both verbal and written
  • Ability to coordinate between internal teams (design, production, etc.)
  • Professional and clear client communication
  • Team-oriented with a collaborative mindset

Experience & Education

  • Experience in a similar role within a trade or construction environment
  • Background in construction coordination or drafting
  • Post-secondary education in construction technology, drafting, or a related field is a requirement.
