We are looking for a Junior HR Generalist to undertake a variety of HR duties and administrative tasks. This role will support daily HR functions such as recruitment, health and safety, training and development, performance, employee engagement, HR data management and maintaining accurate records, onboarding and offboarding, employee relations, and other day-to-day tasks. If you are a self-starter with an aptitude for learning, a post-secondary education in HR, and are looking to begin your career in the world of Human Resources, this opportunity could be for you!

Duties and Responsibilities:
Recruitment, Onboarding & Offboarding
- Assist with internal, external and co-op recruiting needs by posting open position on job boards, website, and social media.
- Support screening resumes for specific criteria, scheduling interviews, conducting reference checks and preparing offer letters.
- Attend job fairs as needed.
- Collect documents and track onboarding by working through checklists, sending health and safety training, entering necessary data, creating keycards, and initiating IT setup.
- Support facilitating basic HR orientation sessions.
- Work through offboarding checklists including documentation, updating data, asset retrieval, and closing IT systems.
Health & Safety

Assist with maintaining required H&S documentation.

Support compliance activities required for health and safety program and systems
-
Support with WSIB, long-term disability (LTD) and return-to-work (RTW) processes.
Other duties
- Respond to day-to-day and routine employee questions.
- Process employee information changes and maintain accurate records in the HRIS.
- Assist with pulling reports and creating custom reports as needed to support internal information requests.
- Support benefits and RRSP administration, including enrollments, changes, terminations, and inquiries.
- Performance management: prepare and support performance cycles in Bamboo, including 3-month reviews, and partner with HR team on annual review cycles.
- Training and development: track attendance of internal and external training sessions, assist with coordinating annual training plans.
- Support employee surveys, including setup and reporting.
- Review policies and employee handbooks and make revisions/updates with HR team
- Support with creating and implementing new and ad-hoc HR projects and initiatives.
Education Requirements and Experience:
-
Post-secondary education in Human Resources or a related field.

1 year of direct HR experience would be an asset.

Strong HR administration skills.

Knowledge of HRIS systems (e.g., BambooHR), would be an asset

Working understanding of HR practices, and knowledge of employment legislation.

Strong organizational, multitasking and time management skills.

Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.
-
Problem-solving and analytical skills, with strong attention to detail.
