How you’ll make a difference:

The Access to Information (ATI) business area fulfills WCB - Alberta’s commitment to fair information practices. Reporting to the Supervisor, Access to Information, you will be an integral part of the team responsible for reviewing and documenting incoming requests for information from workers and employers. You will also be responsible for processing

Your Responsibilities:

  • Use your independent problem-solving skills to analyze claim history and determine the validity of an ATI request.
  • Review authorizations to ensure representatives are authorized and the appropriate authority has been granted for claim file information.
  • Review incoming requests and determine the validity and eligibility of a requestor’s request for claim -information.
  • Create requests and gather components of the claim file within WCB’s secure digital environment.
  • Release claim files electronically, accurately and thoroughly in accordance with WCB policy.
  • Meet accuracy and statistical requirements on a monthly basis, showcasing your diligence and dedication to your work.
  • Work in a high-pace environment, managing your own workload and working with your teammates to carry out the teams priority work.
  • Solve problems and communicate with customers in order to avoid any unnecessary delays in service.
  • Update business applications ensuring that a high level of accuracy and confidentiality is maintained.
  • Communicate both verbally and in writing with external and internal customers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Work Coordinator and/or Supervisor.

Your Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma, experience in an office and customer service environment are preferred.
  • General knowledge of WCB legislation, policy and procedures is considered an asset.
  • General knowledge and familiarity with the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Proficiency using business computer applications including eCO and PAM (internal WCB software) is an asset.
  • Highly effective in a multi-tasking environment with ability to handle large volume of work while meeting deadlines.
  • Reliability and time management skills are integral to success in this position.
  • The ability to exercise independent judgment and work with minimal supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail.

Salary: $45,414 to $50,463 per annum (Salary Grade 4)

Successful candidate must reside in Alberta and be able to work in person from our Edmonton downtown office as required. This position is temporary for a period of up to one year with the possibility of extension or permanency. Final candidates are required to undergo a security clearance as a condition of employment.
