Role: Operations Manager
Position Summary Our client is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of their industrial blasting and coating facility in Sudbury, Ontario. This individual will be responsible for leading production, developing employees, improving efficiency, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring safe and profitable operations.
The successful candidate will be expected to take ownership of the facility, provide strong leadership, and continually improve their processes, culture, and customer experience.
Primary Responsibilities
Manage the daily operations of the blasting and coating facility. Plan and schedule production to meet customer deadlines. Lead, coach, mentor, and develop shop personnel. Promote a positive, accountable, and safety-focused workplace culture. Coordinate labour, equipment, materials, and subcontractors. Monitor production efficiency, labour utilization, and project profitability. Ensure all work is completed in accordance with customer specifications and quality standards. Work closely with estimating, administration, shipping, and field personnel to ensure projects flow efficiently through the facility. Assist with hiring, employee development, and performance management. Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in production, quality, maintenance, and workflow. Maintain strong relationships with customers and suppliers. Report directly to senior management.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous management experience within industrial coatings, fabrication, heavy industrial, manufacturing, or a related industry. Strong understanding of abrasive blasting, industrial coatings, or similar industrial processes is preferred. Demonstrated experience leading production teams and managing multiple projects simultaneously. Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills. Experience managing budgets, labour productivity, and operational performance. Ability to make decisions independently while working collaboratively with senior leadership.
Requirements
Valid Ontario Driver’s Licence. Monday to Friday, 40-hour work week; additional hours may be required to meet production schedules or customer demands. Ability to work primarily from our Sudbury facility, with occasional travel to customer sites or other locations if required.

$100,000 - $125,000 salary.

Performance Bonus
The Operations Manager will be eligible to participate in the Company’s performance bonus program following the successful completion of twelve (12) months of continuous employment. The initial twelve (12) months of employment will be considered an onboarding, assessment, and implementation period and will not be eligible for performance bonus consideration.
Performance bonuses will first be evaluated based on results achieved during Months 12 through 24 of employment and will thereafter be assessed annually in accordance with the Company’s bonus program and established performance objectives.
