WHAT YOU’LL DO

 

  • Diagnose and repair commercial transport / transit vehicles using advanced diagnostic tools

  • Perform preventative maintenance and CVIP inspections (as qualified and authorized)

  • Operate buses for testing and diagnostics as required

  • Maintain accurate service records and support parts procurement

  • Collaborate with fellow technicians and management to meet shop priorities

  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized workspace

  • Mentor apprentices and support training and development initiatives

 

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • Journeyperson Commercial Transport Technician (Red Seal) OR

  • Automotive Service Technician (AST) or Heavy Equipment Technician (HET) Red Seal with willingness to transition into transit/bus maintenance

  • OR

  • 4th-Year Apprentice in the mentioned Mechanical fields (Registered with SkilledTradesBC or equivalent provincial/territorial apprenticeship authority)

  • Air Brake endorsement, or willingness to obtain

  • CVIP license, or willingness to obtain

  • Demonstrated competency in brakes, steering, suspension, and preventative maintenance

  • Valid Class 5 driver’s licence with air brake endorsement (maximum 3 demerits)

  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and safety-first mindset

 

CVIP & COMPLIANCE

 

  • CVIP license is an asset

  • Candidates without CVIP may be considered if willing and eligible to obtain, or able to meet regulatory requirements under supervision during onboarding

 

BONUS POINTS

 

  • Transit, coach, or fleet maintenance experience

  • Experience with electronic work order / maintenance management systems

  • Class 1, 2, or 3 license with air endorsement

 

WHAT WE OFFER

 

  • Competitive pay: Journeyperson: $46–$50/hr (based on experience and qualifications). 
  • 4th-Year Apprentices will be paid at 90% of the applicable Red Seal/Journeyperson rate, with an increase to full rate upon successful completion of the program and attainment of certification
  • Consistent schedule: Monday–Friday, primarily 40 hours per week. Occasional overtime and call-outs based on operational need
