Position Overview

Eastern Ontario Regional Laboratory Association (EORLA) - Montfort Hospital Site, Ottawa, ON Canada
Division of Diagnostic and Molecular Pathology
Department of Medical Biology

The department of Laboratory Medicine of EORLA’s Montfort Hospital site is looking for a full-time pathologist position, to start on July 1st, 2026. Fellowship training in a subspecialty relevant to our practice would be an asset but is not a requirement.

The successful candidate will join our team of 3 pathologists at the Montfort Hospital. Our practice is non-subspecialized, and the candidate will be expected to handle a variety of cases from Gastrointestinal, Breast, Gynecologic, Genito-urinary, Dermatologic, Head and Neck, Soft Tissue and Placental pathology. Our annual surgical pathology volume exceeds 16,000 cases.

Compensation and benefits are aligned with the Uniform Minimum Level of Compensation (UMLC) for Ontario pathologists, with an annual remuneration of approximately CAD $418,920. Only candidates selected for interviews will be contacted. The position will remain open until filled.

Basic Requirements

Applicants must hold an MD degree, be eligible for licensure in Ontario, and possess Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada certification (or equivalent board certification) in Anatomical Pathology. Applicants must be proficient in both French and English, or alternatively, they must agree to undergo language classes and pass a proficiency test within three years of the start of the appointment. Successful candidates will be appointed to the University of Ottawa with opportunities for teaching, collaborative research, and academic advancement. Rank will be based on experience in accordance with university guidelines.

As a pre-condition of employment, all new EORLA employees or contractors will be required to obtain and provide a satisfactory Criminal Records Check dated within six (6) months from the date of issue.
