About the role
Position Overview:
The Maintenance Technician (Commercial) will be responsible for performing maintenance duties across Kaneff Golf's portfolio, which includes Lionhead, Carlisle, Royal Ontario, Century Pines, and Royal Niagara golf courses. The role involves ensuring the proper operation, safety, and appearance of all buildings, and structures within the golf properties.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Participate in the on-call rotation and carry a company cell phone for urgent maintenance needs.
- Perform scheduled maintenance on equipment, HVAC systems, and other mechanical systems.
- Oversee and assist outside contractors when required for specialized repairs or inspections.
- Regularly inspect and maintain building systems, including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Repair structures, move office furniture, signage, and other building components.
- Perform minor electrical work, such as replacing switches, ballasts, and light fixtures, and troubleshooting electrical issues.
- Complete minor plumbing repairs, including faucet replacements, toilet repairs, and troubleshooting plumbing issues.
- Patch damaged asphalt or concrete and repair and patch drywall.
- Paint building interiors and exteriors, including doors, railings, gas lines, and signage.
- Safely operate power tools such as drills, saws, breaker hammers.
- Inspect roofs and repair leaks as needed.
- Build signage frameworks and install signs using tools like posthole diggers.
- Complete and submit payroll timesheets, and maintenance logs promptly.
- Ensure all tasks comply with Occupational Health and Safety Standards and company safety protocols.
- Notify the Maintenance Supervisor/Director of Commercial Property Management of any unusual occurrences or property damage.
- Maintain a courteous and professional demeanor when interacting with tenants, contractors, and colleagues.
- Identify maintenance issues and implement effective solutions independently.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Experience in commercial maintenance, with a focus on large properties or recreational facilities.
- Proficiency in operating hand tools, power tools, and landscaping equipment.
- Knowledge of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and work outdoors as required.
