About the role
As a System Conceptor, you will be responsible for identifying and understanding customer needs and the functionalities required for the development of robotic products. You will participate in identifying product certification needs to support the demonstration of conformity to applicable standards. You will participate in defining system architectures that will meet product requirements. You will be responsible for detailed trade-off analyses and multidisciplinary studies related to system requirements and maintaining the traceability of these requirements to customer requirements. You will closely monitor the various design, development, and verification activities to ensure that products comply with requirements. You will lead various project reviews with the client as per project needs. You will actively participate in the planning and estimation of activities related to the maintenance and development of robotic products.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Participate in product definition in collaboration with clients;
- Take charge of managing client user requirements;
- Actively contribute to project reviews with external clients;
- Participate in system risk analysis;
- Draft risk control documents;
- Participate in defining mitigation measures related to risks;
- Evaluate the technical impacts of proposed mitigations;
- Write requirements for robotic systems;
- Participate in the definition and documentation of system architectures;
- Participate in identifying certification needs;
- Participate in drafting product conformity reports to norms and standards;
- Maintain traceability of product requirements to system requirements;
- Participate in design reviews of software and hardware components;
- Follow up with development teams to ensure the product meets system requirements;
- Participate in the development of system verification strategy;
- Contribute to drafting system verification procedures;
- Monitor the evolution of product architecture;
- Provide technical assistance to designers;
- Participate in defining product launch strategies;
- Actively participate in drafting proposals and project estimation.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in robotics engineering, aerospace, or equivalent with a mechatronics concentration;
- 5 years of experience in the development of spatial mechatronic systems or mobile robotics;
- Knowledge of ISO 3691-4, IEC 62304 standards, and space development standards (NASA);
- Experience as a technical representative with clients;
- Experience with user requirements management;
- Experience in writing system and software requirements;
- Experience in verification of medical robotic products;
- Experience with calls for tenders and technical proposal processes;
- Experience with requirements management tools;
- Experience in risk analysis;
- Experience with medical product certification;
- Have a customer-oriented approach, be professional, motivated, and meticulous;
- Results-oriented, proactive, sense of priorities, and ability to influence;
- Ability to make quick decisions in situations of risk and uncertainty;
- Member of the Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ).
ASSETS
