Make an impact with our Tax team as an Accountant. This diverse team of professionals delivers customized tax strategies within a complex and dynamic regulatory framework. As a trusted advisor, you’ll design solutions for clients that meet compliance and reporting requirements, minimize risk, drive efficiencies and maximize returns.

Responsibilities

• Preparation of CDA calculations and filings.
• Preparation of estate and trust returns (T3s), family trusts file preparation, and T5s.
• Assisting with tax planning and implementation of tasks.
• Drafting and submitting responses to CRA inquiries and requests.
• Supporting the preparation of T1 and T2 returns, as needed.
• Scanning and organizing paperwork to reduce physical clutter and improve workflow.
• Preparing organizational charts to streamline association reviews by managers
• Assisting with quick-turnaround tasks such as incorporations, reporting memos, election forms and ad hoc tax projects.
• Complete first review of draft legal documents instead of managers.

Skills and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in commerce or business administration (accounting or finance major is preferred)
• Enrolled in the CPA Professional Education Program (PEP)
• 1 to 2 years of relevant public accounting or tax services experience
• Working knowledge of the Canadian Income Tax Act
• Experience working with accounting and tax software is preferred
