About the role
Project Accountant (Co-op) Finance Mississauga, ON Pinchin Ltd. Is currently recruiting for a 8-month co-op placement for a student to join Pinchin’s Mississauga office as a Project Accountant for the Winter 2026 term.
The Project Accountant Co-op position is accountable for monitoring the creation and progress of projects, investigating variances, reviewing expenses, and ensuring that project billings are issued to clients and payments collected.
Responsibilities
- Review and approve all new projects
- Monitor work in progress by reviewing time spent on projects and the disbursements incurred
- Process all project related billings to clients in accordance to the Company’s revenue recognition policy
- Prepare pre-billing documentation to facilitate the billing process on a timely basis
- Post entries into the accounting software and arrange delivery of invoices
- Maintain project-related records, including contracts
- Investigate project variances and submit variance reports to management
- Report to project managers on any opportunities for additional billings
- Report to project managers regarding the remaining funding available for projects
- Investigate all project expenses not billed to clients
- Close out project accounts upon project completion
- Compile information for internal audits, as required
Requirements
- In the process of completing a Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Business or Accounting
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat
- Experience using Deltek Vision ERP (preferred)
- Strong analytical, organization, communication, proofreading and editing skills
