Position purpose:
Performs various financial and administrative tasks, which includes planning, coordinating and prioritizing these tasks to ensure that payments are made in a timely manner. Serves as a resource person on questions involving the interpretation and application of regulations and policies.
In this role, your responsibilities will include:
Financial operations:
- Reviews, checks and reconciles all travel expense documents, individual reimbursement claims, supplier invoices and professional honoraria, in compliance with University and granting agency policies and regulations.
- Ensures that all University and granting agency policies and regulations are correctly applied to ensure integrity and compliance whenever internal and external audits are performed.
- Detects inconsistencies and takes corrective action as required to ensure the soundness of financial transactions posted in the financial system.
Purchasing:
- Performs decentralized purchasing of goods and services for the sector, in accordance with all relevant policies.
Case management:
- Maintains an efficient filing and records management system to preserve the confidentiality of files and ensure that complete and accurate documents are available for future reference or auditing.
Production of reports:
- When requested, provides various simple-to-moderately complex financial reports, both scheduled and ad hoc, to describe financial transactions in support of day-to-day operations.

- Knowledge of the principles of administration and accounting normally acquired through postsecondary studies in a related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
