Job Summary:
Ability to perform various quality control test on products to verify that all products meet or exceed minimum UL Requirements. Ability to perform inspection on cutting lines, molding/expanding, and shipping departments to ensure quality products are produced and shipped out to the customer. Standard hours of operation vary based on the location and shift with occasional overtime and weekend support required as needed, no travel is required. Standard work week 40 hours a week with occasional overtime, no travel required.
What you will do:
- Inspect materials, products, or equipment to detect defects or malfunctions.
- Perform quality assurance tests and visual inspections of raw materials, intermediary products, and finished goods per work instructions.
- Use dimensional measuring devices to ensure product meets job order specifications, or equipment to detect defects or malfunctions.
- Enter all test results into company database and manage documents.
- Communicate quality issues with engineering, shipping, and scheduling daily.
- Enforce safety and sanitation regulations.
- Participate in U.L. audits on a quarterly basis.
- Act as plant liaison to the Tech Center regarding all Q.C. functions.
- Conduct root cause analysis regarding quality issues, identify and implements appropriate corrective actions.
- Assist external an internal quality audit.
- Assist Production teams with process changes, quality plan documentation, and test requirement updates.
- Assist customer service and sales teams to respond to customer questions in relation to product capability and limitations.
- Help to drive continuous quality improvement and scrap reduction across the sites.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/ Skills/ Knowledge:
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Six (6) months to one (1) year related experience required.Math Skills proficiency up to Algebra and Trigonometry.
- Must demonstrate safe working practices and possess great attention to detail.
- Ability to follow CWT’s policies, procedures, and processes.
- Good communication, organization, and time management skills.
- Basic computer, mathematics, and problem-solving skills; ability to use a calculator.
- Ability to use measuring devices (gauges, tapes, rulers).
- Team player able to follow instructions from both management and peers.
- Ability to learn and operate new equipment.
Working Conditions:
- This position conducts its work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to some odors.
