About the role
We’re looking for a remote Business Development Manager – Specification Sales in the architectural building products industry, based in Ontario.
Our client supplies architecturally focused products used in commercial and residential environments. This is a design stage, specification driven role focused on influencing architects and designers, securing early project inclusion, and driving growth across Ontario. The Business Development Manager will focus on identifying opportunities, building A&D relationships, and converting projects through long, consultative sales cycles.
Business Development Manager – Specification Sales responsibilities: Build and convert a specification driven project pipeline Influence projects early with architects, designers, and consultants Drive demand across hospitality, commercial, and residential applications Engage developers, contractors, and installers to support project execution Manage long sales cycles and specification timelines Develop and execute territory growth strategy Maintain pipeline visibility, forecasting, and CRM discipline The successful candidate has: 5+ years of specification led building product sales experience Proven ability to influence architects and secure design stage specifications Experience working with A&D firms, designers, and project stakeholders Exposure to design led or architecturally focused product solutions Strong relationship building and project based selling capability Comfortable working independently in a remote, high-ownership role Compensation and benefits: Base salary of $115,000 plus performance based commission Strong earning potential tied to project wins and territory growth Comprehensive benefits package Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada and currently reside in Ontario.
