Role Description This full-time, on-site Red Seal Automotive Technician role is based at Dueck Auto Group’s Richmond, BC location. The technician will perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on a variety of GM and pre-owned vehicles, ensuring work is completed safely and to manufacturer standards. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting vehicle inspections, performing scheduled services and oil changes, repairing mechanical and electrical systems, and addressing suspension and drivability concerns. The technician will document all work performed, communicate findings and recommendations to service advisors, and help maintain a clean and organized shop environment. Collaboration with other technicians and ongoing participation in training will be expected to stay current with GM and industry standards. Qualifications Strong skills in Vehicle Maintenance and Maintenance & Repair for a wide range of automotive systems. Proficiency in performing Oil Changes and routine service inspections to manufacturer specifications. Hands-on experience with Automotive Repair, including diagnostics and troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical issues. Competence in Suspension work, including inspection, repairs, and replacements to ensure safe vehicle handling. Red Seal Automotive Technician certification (or eligibility to obtain) and relevant provincial licensing. Experience working in a dealership or professional repair shop environment, preferably with GM vehicles. Ability to use diagnostic tools, service manuals, and computerized systems effectively. Strong attention to detail, safety-focused work habits, and reliable time management. Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented service department.
